These days we are continuing to plug away with our 3 R's (reading, writing, arithmatic). I'm out on maternity leave and usually pick Alex up from preschool around 3. After that we work on one lesson in the Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading and a Bob Book. We're on about lesson 50 or so. Then we do 1-2 pages of handwriting practice from Handwriting without tears. Next comes how ever many pages she's willing to do from Singapore Math's "Power Math". We move between Singapore Math and Shiller Math, just depending on what the math topic is. Lastly, we do something out of her many workbooks ( I let her choose). Yesterday we finished up Critical Thinking Companys- Visual Perception Book. She loves those or anytype of maze/dot to dot, paint by number, etc. We don't do all of these at one sitting. I usually give her about 10 mins. free time in between each topic or we have a little snack after handwriting. The great thing is that she is becoming independent in her seat work, and as long as I help her get started (read directions, do 1-2 examples), she continue working alone then call me when done. This is great, because I've been using this time to get dinner on. Multi-tasking at it's finest!
Here are some pics of our typical lessons:
