So, even after our week in NYC where we could have done some serious shopping, we wait until we get back home to hit up the Gap Kids.....why, oh why?
7/17- Finally catching up on some sleep from vacation (hubby & baby).
7/18- Jordans first day at her new school (week long intro summer camp)
then we all went to lunch (including one their cousins who was spending the night)
Then off to gymnastics for Alex
and desert for the girls to wrap up the evening.
An afternoon trip to the Children's Museum
Here Jordan is doing a rhyming word matching game on the steps.
The moveable alphabet on the Ipad. I highly recommend this app. We also have the physical moveable alphabet. My only wish was that we had purchased the cursive one and that the app offered a cursive version.
Alex enjoys using the hot dots comprehension materials. I've purchased the inferencing and context clues. Although I like the cards, I remain nearby when she's doing them. The hot dots aren't able to give feedback or explain why something is wrong, that's where the adult will need to come in.
Kennedy working on farm animals. I also give her the farm animal babies to match up to the parent.
Later that evening we went to an Indian folk music performance at the library.
After bowling, Jordan practiced her quantities.
and the big treat, grandma watched the girls while the hubby & I went to the Opera. We saw Porgy & Bess. It was WONDERFUL.
and the amazing Denyce Graves performed "Carmen".
Afterwards, adult drinks, crab cake sliders and filet mignon sliders ......
equaled two happy parents and our first date night alone in months.
