Here's our week in photos.
On Wednesday, the girls did a little work in the morning.
Jordan practiced counting & number recognition with the red/blue rods.
I gave Kennedy the Dot to Dot paints and plenty of paper.
and Alex did a few pages from her Singapore Math workbook.
and in the evening, we did a little play. We went to a neighborhood "Rock the Block" concert.
On Thursday, Kennedy & Jordan worked on their fine motor and practical skills.
Again, very simple here. Used glue to make a shape on black paper and gave her a handful of little balls. Showed her how to pick them up & place on the clue and just stepped back. You can see how focused she is, which is a great benefit of hand work- building concentration.
Jordan had a similar activity except she was to use these tongs to pick up and place the balls and her outline was more pre-made.
Alex was off in her room doing her EPGY class, but I did manage to snap this picture later at the library craft session. This was the first time Alex asked if she could go in & do the craft by herself. Her sisters & I hung out reading books/stacking blocks. I'm glad to see this new sense of independence & am encouraging it.
On Friday, we mostly lounged by the pool.
The girls did do their lessons, and Jordan really enjoyed this Seseame Street letters app.
On Saturday, we went to Maymont to watch a performance of the Latin Ballet of Virginia's "Verde". This dance is a tribute to mother earth.
then the girls played on the children's statue.
and hung with daddy.
Love the shot of your little girl in the swing. How fun!
