Today I presented at an Educational Technology Conference held at Randolph Macon College. The topic was on 21st century collaboration skills within the classroom at the secondary level. Here's the snapshot description: Download Opcollab . Here's a link to our actual presentation and resources (very highlevel stuff)
I really enjoy presenting and working with educators. It gives me a different outlet than working directly with kids. I enjoy hearing about what others are doing in their classrooms, new strategies and just the overall experiences of teachers.....I'm sure that's also part of the reason I spend my "free" time following various homeschool blogs. I will say that as a mother, always in the back of my mind I'm thinking about how I can use these activities with my own children.
Oh, if you click on E-Klips on the first link, you can access free teacher videos...they range in a variety of "how to teach your students, short films on various topics,...... etc.etc.etc. Just type in say, "math" in the search field and you can work from there. Another free resource is Teacher Tube. Enjoy!
She also spent about 30 mins going through this
I Spy Fantasy Riddle book. I've personally found this one to be one of the better I Spy books. It's a nice tall book unlike the smaller board books I usually see.
and lastly she took out these old math block puzzles. I bought these home-made dot blocks on Ebay probably a year ago.
We rounded our evening with Alex reading several books in her room and listening to the
"Music Together" CD's w/Jordan. The bedtime story tonight for Alex, finally another chapter of Narnia's Prince Caspian. It's taking us forever to get through this book.....my own fault as I keep getting side-tracked by all our library checkouts. Jordan's bedtime story...this sweet
John Denver book, Sunshine on My Shoulders. I wish I knew the tune to the actual song....it would be a great lullaby.
Alright, nighty, night friends....Alycia
That's a beautiful puzzle! :)
Here's a link to the John Denver song.

Oooohhh.... we love the I Spy books here. My Alex was obsessed with them for quite a while. I wish they came with the answers at times though... there's one page in one of the books that we NEVER found one of the items! :-)
We checked out the Sunshine On My Shoulders book one time.... love that book and I now have the song on my ipod!

We love the Mystery Garden game! It's my 4-year-old's very favorite.
